Job performance like sports performance is an equation of skills and talents. Talent is a natural ability and disposition to do something. Skills can be learned, honed and improved however it's all about the timeframe.
Sometimes individuals struggle with their performance and SMARTFORCE looks under the sheets to find out what's going wrong. Job Capability Analysis looks at the skills of the individual and asks the question "Can they do the job?" and if not, what training or mentoring is required to raise performance. These additional steps are incorporated in the teamwork productivity and cohesion analysis:
Step 1 - Preparation Management
- Management Workshop with SMARTFORCE consultants to develop a SMARTFORCE Employee Blueprint® which elicits:
- Why the business needs this role
- What the role needs to successfully accomplish for the next period
- The display of skills, experiences and behaviours to meet individual, team and organisational performance objectives
Step 2 - Assessment Individual
- Perform on-line self assessment of skills, experiences and behaviours
- Management performs on-line self assessment of individuals skills, experiences and behaviours
- Interview with a SMARTFORCE consultant to objectively assess depth of skill, experience and behaviour going back to past positions
Step 3 - Reports and Recommendations Management
- Recommendations to boost performance
Additional Outcomes
- A skills, experience, behaviour and talent inventory for each person allowing you to make adjustments to improve performance
- Knowledge of a person's skills gaps with guidance on training or mentoring required to hone and improve skills
- A performance management template outlining what must be achieved in the next period to achieve organisational goals
